Mădălina Văleanu graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science,  Department of Computer Science, Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (1995), MSc degree specialization in Distributed Systems (UBB Cluj-Napoca) and Bioinformatics (UMF "Iuliu Hațieganu" Cluj-Napoca) and PhD in Computer Science (UBB Cluj-Napoca, 2004).

Didactic activity. Biostatistics and Medical Informatics, Scientific Research Methodology (Romanian and English sections) of the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry. Basic notions of databases, Security of information systems, Elements of biostatistics for master's students

Scientific activity. She has published more than 70 scientific articles (over 300 citations).

Areas of interest. Univariate and multivariate analysis of medical data, modeling of medical data, distributed databases, medical databases, multicriteria decision methods with applications in medicine.
